The unique rugs in the Glaoua Collection come from the High Atlas, and represent a unique style. Each piece is handcrafted combining all the rugs’ weaving arts, and they are woven, knotted, and embroidered at the same time. The Berbers use them as traveling bags by stretching wires at the sides, folding them in half, and tying them together.
The designs consist of special diamond shapes, triangles, and zigzag patterns. It is common to include bands of fabric, and these features are the distinctive mark to recognize these works of art at first glance.
